Sometimes I get really overwhelmed with all things on my to do list, and it seems like I can never get it all done. I make lists but they don’t seem to help. I think it’s because I try to do too many things on the list at once rather than prioritizing. Hmmm maybe I should add that to my list of New Years resolutions! Prioritize!
THE BIG PICTURE - Episode 4 - Prioritizing
- - Dude!!! I feel like that CONSTANTLY. I started using software called OmniFocus (it is based on Getting Things Done, if you don't know what that is google it... it is pretty an effective way of getting things done) and liked it but have now started using Things (culturedcode.com) on my mac and iPhone. Things is much better!
- - I'll have to try that out. Sounds like it could save me some time. Thanks for the tip Lan!
- - I second the getting things done stuff... though I have still been unable to actually implement it the way I'd like to. Good luck, dude, I'm exactly the same way and still haven't fixed it. If you find the cure, and it actually works... let me know.
- - check out remember the milk. works with twitter, and you can even email yourself tasks. it also lets you rank them and you can catch it online anytime (it syncs with ical and also has an iphone app) ... it is free or your can subscribe for about $20.. working great for me. good luck!
- - I am just like this! My problem is that I start looking at Twitter and Facebook before I make my list, and get very distracted. I have also decided that I have to make my lists so I work on the most important things first. Good luck in your endeavor!
- - I'd say to have a nice timer handy too. (It works with practicing pieces of music.) I'll work on this project for this long, then this project for that long, and so forth. That way, you can allot 10 minutes here, 30 minutes there, and not feel like you've dedicated yourself to one thing too long. Unless it's your blog. Which I get stuck on because I'm trying to catch up with the videos. Sigh.
