THE BIG PICTURE - Episode 35 - Behind the Scenes at Yumi’s Photoshoot

Where do I begin? I met Yumi at a photoshoot for Disney. She referred me to photograph her friend’s wedding. Yumi and I ended up sitting next to eachother over dinner at her friend’s wedding and we talked about doing a photoshoot together just for fun. I don’t think either of us were totally serious about it at the time. We both probably thought it would be fun, but didn’t think it would ever actually culminate into anything. But after many months of the topic being bounced around, we decided to finally make it happen. Yumi’s friend Tracie offered up her makeup expertise and my friends Vu and Lan (The Bui Brothers) were generous enough to bring their Alien Bees lights and show me how to set them up. This was my first time ever using a ring flash! And Lan brought his 5dmkii and captured the video for this episode. Thank you guys!!

There was no real theme or purpose behind this photo shoot other than to have a good time experimenting with lighting, makeup, hair and poses. It was so much fun and I hope you all enjoy the behind the scenes action and the photography! :)
