I had the amazing opportunity to work with Gene Higa at WPPI this year in Las Vegas. In case you don’t already know, Gene was named One of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World by American Photo Magazine. He went all out this year when he hired Elvis to escort him onto stage for his Platform Talk at WPPI. Who does that?!? It was awesome!
Lan Bui did the intro video that played before Gene’s talk that depicted Gene “waking up late” for his platform talk, running around Las Vegas frantically searching for his niche, randomly meeting up with Elvis at the Las Vegas sign, and being escorted by Elvis to Studio B where his platform talk was being held. The video played before they made their grand entrance making it a seemless transition between the prerecorded video of Gene and Elvis running around and them actually entering Studio B and running onto the stage. I was able to get some really cool photos of Gene and Elvis during the filming of the video which was awesome. They’re posted below.
