THE BIG PICTURE - Episode 79 - Reruns Part IV - Behind the Scenes at Yumi’s Photoshoot

Where do I begin? I met Yumi at a photoshoot for Disney. She referred me to photograph her friend’s wedding. Yumi and I ended up sitting next to eachother over dinner at her friend’s wedding and we talked about doing a photoshoot together just for fun. I don’t think either of us were totally serious about it at the time. We both probably thought it would be fun, but didn’t think it would ever actually culminate into anything. But after many months of the topic being bounced around, we decided to finally make it happen. Yumi’s friend Tracie offered up her makeup expertise and my friends Vu and Lan (The Bui Brothers) were generous enough to bring their Alien Bees lights and show me how to set them up. This was my first time ever using a ring flash! And Lan brought his 5dmkii and captured the video for this episode. Thank you guys!!

There was no real theme or purpose behind this photo shoot other than to have a good time experimenting with lighting, makeup, hair and poses. It was so much fun and I hope you all enjoy the behind the scenes action and the photography! :)

THE BIG PICTURE - Episode 77 - Reruns Part II - Chillin’ with my Dad

My dad, Ben Dieppa, has always been a huge source of inspiration to me. His passion for photography has totally influenced me over the years. Photography has been a great way for us to hang out and connect. Every now and then we’ll go out for a few hours and shoot stuff. It doesn’t really matter what we’re shooting because it’s just time for us to temporarily escape from our responsibilities, talk photography and relax. Today we did just that. We drove out to San Pedro and stumbled upon the Korean Friendship Bell. Neither of us had ever been there before. It’s this massive bell that was given as a gift to the U.S. from Korea in 1976. The bell is housed in a gazebo-type korean styled architectural piece with really detailed, ornate designs. It was really cool. Check out the video and some of our photos.

Jessie and Cole’s Engagement Photos in Corona Del Mar - Preview

Jessie and Cole are such a cool couple! I immediately clicked with them the moment we all met over coffee. I’m not going to say much yet, because I want to save it for the official blog post. But their engagement session was awesome. I have some really nice images and videos to post when I get back from Trinidad.

But in the meantime here’s a teaser to peak your interest:

THE BIG PICTURE - Episode 76 - Reruns Part I - Trinidad

Hello my faithful viewers!!! First of all I would just like to thank you all so very much for your comments and support over the last 3 months. I can’t believe I’m already 76 episodes into this thing! Anyhow as many of you already know I’m shooting a destination wedding this weekend in Trinidad and I fly out in the morning. It’s almost 2 am and I just finished packing up all of my gear and clothing. Barbara and I will be there for a whole week, Thursday to Thursday. I’m not sure what the internet access will be like. I have no idea what to expect, so in the meantime I’ve decided to setup a Reruns Series that highlights some of my favorite episodes from the last 3 months. So my plan is to air them throughout the week if I’m unable to post episodes from Trinidad. Either way, just know that I’m committed to recording some really fun and informative episodes while I’m out there documenting my experience from a personal and business perspective. You’ll get to see what I’m doing to prepare the day before the wedding, footage from the wedding itself and the crazy adventures that Barb and I have exploring the island during the days that follow. There is going to be SO MUCH to share when I get back I can’t wait!!
