Aaron Dieppa

I feel so lucky. Why? Because I LOVE MY JOB. And photographing Jessie and Cole’s wedding has made that even more apparent to me. I absolutely love it when I “click” with my clients. Jessie and Cole found me online, so I had no previous connection to them at all. But after the first couple minutes of our initial meeting, I knew that we would probably end up becoming good friends. We just “clicked.” It wasn’t necessarily that we had a lot in common. Although Cole and I did have one thing in common, a secret and extensive knowledge of soap opera history that I’m not proud of. But seriously, we just immediately got along and had the same style of humor. Jessie is hilarious! She had me laughing so much at the rehearsal dinner party! Anyhow I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s one thing to have a job where you meet new people, but to have a job where you make new friendships is amazing, and makes me feel lucky.

Ok now back to their wedding! Jessie and Cole tied the knot at the Newport Beach Marriott which provided a beautiful backdrop for their wedding photography. The Newport Beach Marriott is centered around a huge atrium with a beautiful fountain in the middle which made for great photography after the ceremony. The ceremony was held outside and the weather was perfect. They were married under a gazebo that had roses hanging from it, and it looked stunning with the sun shining through it.

Their wedding photography turned out great and I’m so excited for them! Here are some of my favorites!

The Newport Beach Marriott was filled with furniture like this which worked nicely for this shot.

The center of the Newport Beach Marriott is an atrium with a beautiful fountain that is great for wedding photography.

Candace and Dominic were a great couple to photograph. Easy going, fun and attractive. I took their engagement photos back in June:

Their wedding was at the Villa del Sol, a Mediterranean inspired building in downtown Fullerton. I’m so excited with how their wedding photography turned out. Below are just a few of my favorites. Villa del Sol is a great place for wedding photography for a lot of reasons. It has a lot of outdoor space which makes for great lighting and it has a really romantic feel to it with it’s brick walls, red tile roofing, columns and archways.

I was also excited about shooting their wedding photography at Villa del Sol because I knew the surrounding downtown Fullerton area had some great back alleyways including the one shown below with the green ivy covering it’s walls. It was perfect!

Ok so I totally debated whether or not I should post the last photo (by Lan Bui), but I think it’s worth it so I can make a point. Every photographer takes a different approach with how they interact with their clients. I like to be myself and therefore try to maintain a relaxed and fun attitude with them. I always stay within the bounds of professionalism, but I strive hard to make my couples feel comfortable enough with me that they can be themselves and have fun too. Hence the photograph below of me in the arms of the groom…awkard…yes…hilarious and worth it…absolutely! This photo pretty much sums up the level of comfort I give to my clients.

I love the brick and archways that the Fullerton Villa Del Sol provided.

We climbed up to the third level of Villa Del Sol in Fullerton for this photograph.  The view was really nice, and the light was soft and red since the sun was setting.
