The other day my younger brother Alec asked me to take some photos of him, because he’s thinking about doing some modeling. He’s obviously good looking since he’s related to me!

He’s going to school right now to be a hair stylist, which is going to work out nicely. Eventually I’ll be able to refer my brides to him!

On a side note I just want to take a moment to say how grateful I feel to have such a good realtionship with my family. My mother, my father, my grandmother, my two younger brothers and I are all REALLY close. Like most families, we’ve been through a lot together and it’s strengthened our appreciation for eachother. There is nothing more important to me than my family. I love you guys!!!

Every once in a while I get the opportunity to go to one of Lauren Hillary’s photographer meetings she has at her studio in Newport Beach. It’s always a fun experience, getting to hang out and network with other photographers. This time I carpooled with Vu Bui and we all went out to eat afterward. It’s become somewhat of a tradition to walk across the street after the meeting and eat at Zen Sushi. I usually end up ordering too much though and overeating.

Every once in a while I’m going to post a random video clip from my travels. Traveling is a HUGE part of my life. I love it just as much as I love photography. Actually they go hand-in-hand. I have so many photos from all over the place that I want to share with everyone, it’s crazy!

In 2006 I did a 2 1/2 month backpacking adventure through Europe and I’ve been hooked ever since. I just can’t get enough of it. I’ve already been to 18 countries and this year I plan to hit 3 more! And I’m pretty lucky because Barbara is just as hooked! We’re thinking of taking our honeymoon in South America. Maybe Brazil. Any thoughts or suggestions?

The clip below is of me zip-lining in Costa Rica in 2007. Video cannot do it justice! This was actually the last run of 12 runs we did across the jungle. It was intense.

I photographed Kristen and Kevin’s wedding a year and a half ago. They just recently decided to order a photo album which I had printed and bound by Leather Craftsmen. Lan went with me on Saturday to deliver the album since he was my 2nd shooter for their wedding.

I delivered two albums this weekend actually. Album delivery is my favorite part of the wedding photography process. I love seeing the looks on their faces as they watch the story of their wedding unfold in front of them all over again. It makes me feel great!

I always try to hand deliver my client’s albums to them at their doorstep, with a bottle of my favorite champagne, a box of chocolates and a hand-written card conveying my appreciation. Last impressions are just as important as first impressions. Building a relationship with your clients is a lot like building any other relationship. It’s easy to put a ton of effort into it up front and then slowly put less and less effort forth as time progresses. It’s a lot harder, however, to continue that effort throughout the duration of the relationship. But let me tell you…IT IS SO WORTH IT! Kristen and Kevin have become really good friends of mine!

Hmmm…maybe I should give my fiancee some roses… If you’re reading this Barbara, I LOVE YOU!!!

I can’t believe January is already over! Committing to making a video everyday makes time fly by I guess. It feels like I just started this project a few days ago and I’ve already got 31 videos behind me. I’m not sure how interesting my videos have been, been but I’m definitely seeing an increase in the number of viewers which is totally inspiring! Thank you everyone for your support this month! Only 334 videos left!!
